Children in each of the classrooms are skillfully nurtured in a rich environment of caring, sharing and learning by teachers with degrees in early childhood education. We hire UW Oshkosh students who have taken classes in early childhood development as student assistants to complete our staffing needs.
Yearly background checks and fingerprinting is performed in compliance with state licensing on all staff.

Where did you go to school? UW-Stout, Menomonie, WI.

Type of certification/degree: Bachelor of Science in early childhood education and a minor in speech.

What do you like most about working with children, families and students? I love the children’s optimistic attitude, high spirits and never ending curiosity! Working with early childhood professionals is almost always upbeat and positive, they are truly unique individuals and educators. Working with parents and students on a daily basis is something challenging but always rewarding and keeps me on my toes. After 40 years in the field, I still look at the clock everyday and say, “How did it get to be 3:30 already?”

Where are you from? Originally Center Valley, WI.  Currently reside in Appleton, WI.

Special interests: MADD and Fox Valley Humane Society.

How do you relax? Reading, walking, watching Children’s Theater, dance, sports and gardening.

What makes you smile? Children and my dog, Lilly.

Type of certification/degree: Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Life.

Special certifications: 5-year certification in Vocational Technical Adult Education.  AdvancEd QAR team training, CPR

What do you like most about working with this age group? I enjoy working in the office and using my managerial and leadership skills to provide the exemplary care and education to our staff and families. Also getting to know all the children by substitute teaching in the classrooms.

Where are you from? Originally from Black Creek, WI.  Currently reside in Fond du Lac, WI.

Special interests: Enjoy polka dancing to Polish-style music.

How do you relax? Reading and listening to music.

What makes you smile? Children laughing and enjoying themselves.

Kelsey Ransom, Infant Classroom Teacher

Where did you go to school? UW Oshkosh, Oshkosh, WI.

Type of certification/degree: Bachelors of Science in liberal studies/leadership emphasis. Continuing education classes and training in early childhood.

Special certifications: CPR and Frist Aid, Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, Pyramid Model, Shaken Baby training.

What do you like most about working with this age group? I love seeing the children grow and develop  their own personalities. It’s such a pleasure being a part of their exciting adventure!

Where are you from? Originally from Shorewood, WI.  Currently reside in Oshkosh, WI.

Special interests: I love running, cooking and any activity in the warm summer weather.

How do you relax? To relax, I snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie, allowing myself to do absolutely nothing else.

What makes you smile? Babies laughs and making people happy.

What do you like most about working with this age group? I enjoy the children and being part of a team with families, students and teachers.

How do you relax? I relax by riding my bike on the Wiowash Trail.

What do you like most about working with this age group? I enjoy working with the children and supporting their opportunity to grow and learn as individuals.

What do you like most about working with this age group? Their energy, their willingness to learn and their innocence.

Where are you from? Born in Saukville, Wisconsin, presently residing in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Special interests: Boating, travel, swimming

How do you relax? Spending time with my family and friends, playing with our dog, reading and a good cup of coffee.

What makes you smile? The students in my classroom! Their smiles and laughter and watching them learn and experience things for the first time.

Julie Hill, 2 Year Old Classroom Teacher

What do you like most about working with this age group? I like the way the kids soak up information like little sponges! Also, being able to help them reach milestones in their learning. Finally, the way they smile and laugh over little things.

How do you relax? Reading, baking, cooking and spending time with my husband and kids.

What makes you smile? My family and dog, warm fall days, kids laughing and playing, going for walks.

Jacquie Pluim, 2 Year Old Classroom Teacher

What do you like most about working with this age group? I love teaching this age group because you really do see kids go through big changes such as the friendships that develop in and out of the classroom and the development of language. The best part of my job is the love you get back from them, the smiles, the hugs and when they realize they have a name!

How do you relax? Reading and daydreaming about winning the lottery!

What do you like most about working with this age group? I enjoy children ages three and four because at these ages they are working on becoming more independent, but still need guidance in some areas. I love to see their achievements and celebrate their successes together.

Special interests: I enjoy making crafts and spending time outside boating, fishing and camping.

How do you relax? I like taking walks with my black lab, Kali and spending time outside sitting by the fire.
